JOB OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Manager Product Engineering is a hands-on engineer with experience leading a team that builds cool things and is at ease working in an agile environment and can bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information storage and retrieval, phantomization, UI design, and mobile. The Senior Manager Product Engineering works on projects affecting healthcare and on a daily basis. This role is responsible for various applications in our coding line of business, but will collaborate with other lines of business across the company, while adhering to standards in tech stack, best practices and other company processes.  The Senior Manager, Product Engineering – Java is passionate about people and technology is an essential requirement of this role as well as able to switch projects, be versatile and take on new problems and challenges across the full stack of applications as we continue to push technology forward.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide ongoing development, maintenance and support for new and existing systems/platforms. 
• Create new applications and platform capabilities to expand our customer offerings. 

• Collaborate cross-functionally with business analysts, product managers, product owners, project managers, DevOps engineers, support staff, Site Reliability engineers, InfoSec, and other engineers. 
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. 
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. 
• Plan and prioritize platform need with Engineers, Program Managers, Product Managers, and Product Owners. 
• Collaborate with customers’ technical stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

• Interest and ability to learn new platforms/applications 
• Strong understanding of API-first development methodologies. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s degree, further education or experience in engineering, computer science or another technical related field. 
• Experience in medical coding and the healthcare revenue cycle. 
• Experience with MongoDB. 
• Experience with other Java frameworks such as Quarkus 

• Experience with unit and integration testing & working with embedded QA resources. 
• Experience with certifications such as HITRUST, SOC, SOX, Etc.
